Modesto Logs Its First Murder Of 2003

A 30 year-old Modesto man was shot and killed in a southwest Modesto neighborhood just before 5 New year´s day morning.
Police say they found Manuel Valdovinos laying in a driveway on Longfellow Avenue. He had been shot. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
A suspect in the shooting, Renee Alvarado, was later arrested.
