Fatal Accident In Valley Springs

A Lodi man was killed and his wife seriously injured when their motorcycle was hit by a pick-up truck on Highway 26 in Valley Springs.
Highway patrol investigators say 53 year-old Kal Kirschenman and his wife Georgeanne were eastbound on Highway 26 when 59 year-old Valley Springs resident Richard Moffat apparently didn€™t see the on-coming bike, pulled out from Silver Rapids Road and struck the 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Impact threw Kirschenman from the motorcycle. He was then hit again by the Ford pick-up. He was pronounced dead at Mark Twain Hospital from head trauma. His wife was flown to Doctors Medical center for treatment.
