A federal grand jury has indicted a former prison guard from Calaveras County on 11 counts of manufacturing Child pornography.

The indictment states 46 year-old San Andreas resident Neil Leash permitted his two young children to engage in sexually explicit acts for the purpose of producing photos and video of such conduct. His arraignment on federal charges has not yet been set.

Currently in Calaveras County jail, Leash also faces state charges including more than 70 separate counts of lewd acts upon a child.

If convicted of the federal charges, Leash, a former Sierra Conservation Center correctional officer, could face a maximum of twenty years in prison for each of the 11 counts. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison on the porn manufacturing charges alone.
