Tuolumne Supes Make Mid-Year Budget Changes

Sponsored by:

Tuolumne County Supervisors have approved their annual fine tuning adjustments to the $136 million county budget.

One of the larger items changed is adding two new staff members at the county jail. Sheriff Dick Rogers asked the board for the additions. He says they´re necessary to be in line with State recommendations. The new staff members are being paid for with money that already exists in the current budget.

In other budget changes, the board decided to hire a Supervisor for the Recreation Department. Supes also approved up to $50,000 for the Community Development Department to purchase new vehicles.

The county customarily makes changes to its budget halfway through its fiscal year, which ends in June.
