Explosion, Fire At NY Oil Refinery
In Breaking National News…A massive fire is sending flames and black smoke hundreds of feet into the air over New York. The blaze broke out today after an explosion at an oil refinery area on Staten Island. The blast happened at Port Mobile, a site of refineries in the southwestern part of the island. TV footage shows a massive wall of flames and thick black smoke. A barge is docked near the fire, and broadcast reports say officials believe it was being refueled. New York Fire Chief William Van Ward tells MSNBC that firefighters will first try to shut off the flow of fuel at the refinery, and then tackle the flames.
