Buses will start rolling again in Amador County next week.
Following nearly a month-long shut down in the Amador County Unified School District, the yellow and black buses are scheduled to hit the road once again Monday. The CHP reportedly finished three days of inspections this week and gave the district a conditional approval to restart service. Inspectors will be monitoring the district for continued improvement.
The buses were idled after the highway patrol said the districts bus maintenance program was inadequate. Since that time, nearly 3,000 students have had to find other ways of getting to school.
Fewer students will be transported by bus because the district has cut its routes by a third.
