State Award For Calaveras County Teacher

Dawn Ritchie, an associate teacher at Calaveras Head Start/State Preschool€™s Valley Springs center, has been named teacher of the year by the California Head Start Association.
The nonprofit advocacy group presented Ritchie with her award at a recognition dinner last month in Sacramento.
A year ago, the same organization named Stephenie Giusto, a family advocate for the local Head Start group, as state Head Start support staff member of the year. Giusto now is a candidate for national honors, which are due to be announced soon.
