Task Force Formed To Study Tulloch Docks
A year-long ban on new dock construction at Lake Tulloch could be lifted early if a special task force formed Monday agrees with requests from Calaveras County supervisors.
The moratorium was created to stop explosive growth on the lake€™s shoreline and push both Calaveras and Tuolumne Counties to put long-term development and recreation management plans into effect. So far that hasn€™t happened.
Many lake front homeowners are upset because of the ban. At a special study session Monday, Calaveras County Supervisors took no formal action, but did give the go-ahead forming a task force to study the issue.
The task force should bring recommendations back to the county supervisors in July. The moratorium is set to remain in place until July anyway, unless Tri-Dam€™s board rescinds it.
The task force is comprised of several homeowner associations as well as county law enforcement, building and planning and administration representatives.
