State Senator Rico Oller says the rally “is about real Americans…who believe it is our duty to defend freedom.” The festively dressed crowd boos the Republican lawmaker´s mention of anti-war protesters swarming the San Francisco area 85 miles away. The rally begins with a “Support our Troops” SUV Rally circling the Capitol with flags waving and horns honking. Participants also sign “Support our Troops” fliers to be sent to the White House.
