Santa Rosa Marine Killed in Iraq

A Santa Rosa Marine has been listed today as killed in action in Iraq. Lance Corporal Patrick O´Day died last week when his tank toppled off a bridge and into the Euphrates River.
There were no witnesses to the incident and the tank´s whereabouts were a mystery until bags with the names of O´Day and the rest of the tank crew were found in the river.
The tank itself was located later. The 20 year old tanker had hurriedly married his high school sweetheart in October, shortly before heading overseas. His family had planned to host a wedding reception when he returned to California.
