New Play “Flights of Fancy” Opens in Sonora

Sponsored by:

Friday is opening night for “Flights of Fancy” in Sonora. It will be the first performance of a revised script. It´s a play about 2 writers who reluctantly decide to collaborate on a romance novel.

Playwright Suzanne Wingrove of Connecticut says the Stage 3 Theatre Company in Sonora always does a fantastic job with her plays. Stage 3 previously performed her play “A Show of Her Own.”

40-year-old Wingrove grew up in Seattle, and says her Pacific Northwest upbringing certainly influenced her writing. She describes the Emerald City as an “arts-rich town…it was becoming that as I was growing up.” She adds, “My wonderful parents took us to the plays and the symphony and ballet. My siblings and I were all exposed to the theatre and arts at a very young age and it impacted all of us. No question about that.”

“Flights of Fancy” starts Friday and runs through May 11th. Call Stage 3 at (209) 536-1778 for more information.
