Wesson Drops Controversial Contracts

Assembly Speaker Herb Wesson has terminated controversial contracts handed out to former lawmakers and political allies.
Wesson says criticism of the contracts had become an “unnecessary distraction” from state business. Wesson denied claims the contracts were political payback for cronies and former lawmakers. Wesson has defended hiring former lawmakers to provide the Assembly with institutional knowledge.
