Arson is likely in a weekend fire behind the Arnold Public Library.
Calaveras County Sheriff investigators say a witness saw two children walking away from the area on Blagen Road around 11 p.m. Saturday night.
When deputies arrived they found a storage building behind the library fully engulfed in flames. Ebbetts Pass Firefighters quickly put out the fire before it could spread.
At the time of the fire deputies and county arson investigators questioned five children, ages 13 to 17, at the Sierra Meadows Apartments, which is near the library. They were all released to their parents for curfew violations.
There are no arrests in the case so far. A dollar amount has yet to be put on the books and building destroyed by the blaze.
