And the winner is… Summerville High School student Caitlyn Smith is this year´s Mother Lode Round-Up Queen. Three young ladies competed Sunday night for the silver crown. Smith, Mallory Wallace and Valerie Lagattuta spoke, modeled different fashions and answered questions during the pageant at the Sonora Elks Lodge last night.
Judges totalled scores to pick the winner, but not all the points came from the pageant. Saturday´s event, the Queen´s horsemanship competition, accounted for 30 percent of the total vote in choosing this year´s winner.
Round-Up activities continue Wednesday evening with the Tuolumne County Band Review at Sonora High School.
