“Racy” Magazines Pulled From Wal-Mart
Three popular men€™s magazines won´t be found on the shelves at your local Wal-Mart anymore. The retail giant has pulled Maxim, Stuff and FHM — saying the magazines are too racy for its customers. The magazines often feature women posing in skimpy clothing, in addition to articles on fitness, sex and sports. A Wal-Mart spokeswoman told The New York Times the decision was made after the chain heard opinions from customers. It´s another in a series of moves by Wal-Mart to cut back on items it considers too risqué.
The publishing firm that owns Maxim and Stuff says decisions to pull such magazines are often irrational.
