Bill Hopes To Help Cell Phone Buyers

Consumers would have 30 days to rescind a cell phone service contract under a bill approved Monday by the state Senate. Sen. Debra Bowen says her legislation would prevent the phones from becoming a very expensive paperweight if customers find that the service doesn´t meet their needs.
She says cell phones are the most complained about product, mostly because the areas in which the phones can be used are not accurately described by sellers. A 21-15 vote sent the bill to the Assembly.
