The 75th anniversary edition of the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee is underway. Today the “Diamond Anniversary” year county fair at Frog Town in Angels Camp features the Battle of the Bands on the main stage beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Other activities and attractions include pony express relay race, ranch roping and calf branding, livestock judging, plus lots of food, carnival rides and entertainment.
Today is “Senior Day.” Fairgrounds opened at 8 a.m. this morning, the exhibit buildings at 10 a.m. and rides begin at noon.The fairgrounds close at midnight.
On Saturday “Cowboy Day,” country music star Darryl Worley headlines on the main stage at 8 p.m. Grand finals of the famous frog jump competition begins at 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
