Forest Bill Goes To Senate

Sponsored by:

A healthy forests bill that gained strong support from President Bush passed the House of representatives yesterday.

The bill allows for the removal of smaller and fallen trees to reduce the risk of catastrophic forest fires.

Speaking outside the White House yesterday, the president says the bill aims to “remove the bureaucratic tangle and bad forest policy” that have worsened fire danger. The bill now moves on to the senate.
