Sun and Skiing This Weekend

Sponsored by:

Nevada tourism officials say the late season snows have offered up a double dip of fun at Lake Tahoe this holiday weekend. Thanks to near record snowfall across much of the northern Sierra in April, visitors can choose between sunning on the beach or skiing the slopes — or both. Four Tahoe-area resorts remain open for skiing through the Memorial Day weekend — Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Heavenly and Kirkwood. Officials at Alpine Meadows say they have a base of

nearly six feet of snow. At lake level, the forecast calls for sunny weather with highs mostly in the eighties. State park officials says that should make for a busy weekend at Sand Harbor and other state beaches on the lake.
