The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service says increased water deliveries are not threatening the survival of the protected smelt in the Sacramento Delta. The report says the number of delta smelt killed at pumping stations is expected to rise as water deliveries to valley farmers and residents are boosted the next several days.
