Fundraiser is Successful…and Tasty!

It´s perhaps the most delicious fundraiser anywhere. The 7th annual Twain Harte al la Carte was held Saturday, with restaurants and wineries from around the Mother Lode showing off their food and drink.

Event Chairwoman Jan Hiebert says she expects that when all the calculations are done, the event will have raised about $15,000. She says the money goes to several different scholarships, the Lifeline Program for the Elderly, and many other good causes.

Among many other things, Hiebert says Soroptimist International of Twain Harte is commited to donating $50,000 to the Soroptomist Women´s Breast Health Center at the new Sonora Regional Medical Center which will open soon.

Over 300 people were at Meadow Plaza in Twain Harte on Saturday night, sampling food and beverages from area restaurants and wineries.
