Governor Davis will issue an executive order tomorrow aimed at reducing tobacco sales to minors.
A spokesman for the governor says an increase in illegal tobacco sales to minors could threaten California´s share of some federal funds. Spokesman Russ Lopez says that illegal sales to minors are increasing. He declined to say how much federal money was at stake. Lopez says the governor´s order will focus on retailers who break the law by selling tobacco products to minors.
State health officials will unveil the details of Davis´ executive order tomorrow.
