As work on the East Sonora Expressway wraps-up, talks on another by-pass is coming into the forefront.
The North-South Connector Project hopes to ease the traffic load to Highway 49 as it passes through downtown Sonora.
Though construction is — at the minimum — several years away, initial feasibility study of the project has begun.
Judith Buethe is project outreach manager. She says they are actively looking for public comment and ideas for the proposed by-pass during a public meeting this Thursday. Maps and other informational displays will be available for viewing. She says this will be the first of many meetings.
The meeting will be held at the Sonora Elks Lodge from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 8th.
