West Point Man Arrested, Injured In DUI Wreck

A teenage driver was arrested for DUI in the West Point area Saturday night.
19-year-old Eric Rummerfield Junior was northbound on Smitty Lane approaching Winton Road, when the CHP says, due to his intoxication, he allowed his Jeep to run off the roadway, and hit a tree.
Officials say he wasn´t wearing his seat belt.
Rummerfield suffered a cut on his head and was taken to Sutter Amador Hospital.
He was then booked into the Calaveras County Jail for driving while intoxicated and driving without a driver´s license.
