Cameraman Booted From Peterson Trial

Sponsored by:

Sources tell The Associated Press that a Bay Area television station cameraman has had his Scott Peterson trial credentials pulled for secretly recording part of the proceedings.

Court spokeswoman Lisa Williams says a journalist´s pass was pulled for misconduct but declines to name the person.

Sources tell the AP the journalist is Chip Vaughn, and that he was stripped of his credential after he was discovered making audio recordings inside a listening room.

That room, set up for journalists, is considered an extension of the court, and recording is not permitted.

A KTVU station manager says Vaughn was taping without the station´s knowledge or approval and that none of the material was aired. The manager declined to give his name, calling the incident an internal personnel matter.
