No showers or coffee for some early risers in Sonora this morning.
Water is out in many parts of downtown Sonora this morning after a water main break at South Shepherd and East Lyons Street around 1:30 a.m. this morning. Numerous homes in the area east of Washington Street are affected this morning. The Tuolumne County jail and the sheriff´s department office also report being without water. Residents in the area of the Mother Lode Fairgrounds without water as well.
Sonora Police say Shepherd Street is closed between Jackson and Bradford streets.
TUD is working on restoring service to as many homes and businesses as possible this morning, after they isolate the damage area.
Sonora Police say water will be off in the immediate area of the break until at least 2 this afternoon.
