Sponsored by:

This evening, the Sonora City Council will make their all-important decision.

They´re going to select from a group of candidates to fill the seat that Liz Bass will be leaving at the end of the year.

Bass, the ten-year City Council veteran and former Sonora Mayor, begins her term as District One Tuolumne County Supervisor in January. She defeated longtime incumbent Larry Rotelli in the November election.

Businessman Jim Segerstrom and former mayor and councilman Jim Hildreth have thrown their hats into the ring, as have Jim Garaventa, who ran for the council back in March, and Gary Anderson, currently seated on the city´s Planning Commision.

Issues of Measure I money will also be discussed by the council tonight.

The meeting at city hall begins at 5pm.
