House Mostly Saved After Tuolumne Fire Thursday

Sponsored by:

Fire crews responded to a house fire in the Tuolumne area last night.

It happened around 5pm, at the 19100 block of Sunrise Drive.

One room of the single family dwelling was on fire, according to Craig Hart with Tuolumne County Fire. Damage is estimated at 30 thousand dollars, 15-thousand of which was damage to the structure, and 15-thousand of which was damage to contents of the house. However, Hart added that a quick response by firefighters meant 400-thousand dollars of value to the home was saved.

No one was home at the time of the fire. Investigators say an overheating heat pad which had been left on was the cause of the blaze.
