Officials now say it will be at least an hour to an hour and a half before power is restored to Sonora, Jamestown and Columbia.
Sonora Police say an injury traffic accident caused a wide-spread power outage this morning affecting about 3,800 people.
A spokeswoman for the police department says a single vehicle hit a power pole early this morning at Snell Street and Spring hill Drive in the Race Track Road area west of town.
Emergency crews had to cut the power at the pole to deal with the accident.
Police are asking you to be extra cautious when approaching intersections where the traffic lights are out….Police officers are responding to the larger intersections to direct traffic.
Again authorities are estimating about 8 a.m. or 8:30 a.m. this morning before power will be back on in the Sonora area.
