Crews are gaining the upper hand on a 2,300-acre wildfire in Riverside County. The blaze once threatened as many as 400 homes in the Temecula area. The fire is 90 percent encircled. Two mobile homes and nine vehicles have been destroyed. More than 540 firefighters battled the blaze, aided by four helicopters and two air tankers.
Officials say it was sparked by a motor home that overheated and caught fire.
