Sierra Depot Design Causes Delays In Construction
Oakdale, CA — The Sierra Railroad Dinner Train´s new Oakdale passenger depot may not be ready before the old one closes.
Due to a rejection of a previous design by the City Council, Dinner Train President Chris Hart says he needs an extension.
The train has operated theme-oriented trips through eastern Stanislaus County since 1999.
Hart says the depot on Sierra Avenue is too big, which prompted the company to sell the building and move the depot further south.
The last design seems to sit better with the council, however Hart doesn´t think it will be finished by the January 15th deadline to stop operating at the current depot.
