University Of California, Merced Delays Opening Of Science Building
Merced, CA — Officials at the University of California, Merced are saying a poor labor pool along with a high demand for construction materials will prevent the school´s Science and Engineering building from being ready for the spring semester.
Students will reportedly be able to use instructional laboratories on the building´s first floor, but the top two floors won´t be ready for a few weeks.
Officials say that despite the delays, the first phase of construction is almost finished.
The University is planning an open house January 15th. U-C Merced currently has 875 students enrolled for the school´s first semester of operation.
