Sonora, CA — The Amador-Tuolumne Community Action Agency is working hard to get its Holiday Food Baskets ready before Christmas.
Food Bank Director Lee Kimball says that hunger is a big problem in the community and the help of one person can go a long way.
For Thanksgiving the Food Bank also put baskets together with the help of volunteers, and donated food.
Kimball says last year A-TCAA gave out 70,000 bags of food and helped more than 5,000 families each month through food closets.
Holiday Food Basket Coordinator Gwen Harris says they are in desperate need of pie filling and stuffing mix.
Harris says the baskets have to be prepared by December 16th and food donations can be dropped off at most local grocery stores. For more information call A-TCAA at 984-3960.
