Elder Abuse Trial For Valley Springs Woman Postponed
San Andreas, CA — Defense attorneys for a Valley Springs woman facing elder abuse charges are getting more time to prepare for trial.
The trial for 51-year-old Rosie Deyarmon was initially scheduled for December 8th. Deyarmon´s attorney Cyril Ash requested the continuance because of new information regarding evidence that the defense had intended to introduce at trial.
Deyarmon and her husband, 55-year-old Alan Deyarmon, were arrested in June after authorities discovered Alan´s 91-year-old mother living in extreme squalor and near death at the couple´s home. Two children were also found living in the house.
Alan Deyarmon was sentenced to seven years in prison last month after reaching a plea agreement with prosecutors.
Rosie Deyarmon´s trial is now set for February 23rd.
