Teens Pried From Car With Jaws Of Life On Hwy 49

Sponsored by:

Mountain Ranch, CA — Two Mountain Ranch men are recovering from a major car accident last night involving an oak tree.

CHP officers say 18 year old Mitchell Gibson was driving a 2005 Dodge Stratus on Highway 49 after 10:00pm when he says he saw headlights in his lane and swerved to the right.

Gibson lost control of the car, causing it to overturn; however the top of his car was stopped by a large oak tree. Fire crews extracted Gibson and his 18 year old passenger Joseph Wickham using the Jaws of Life.

Both men were transported by ambulance to Sonora Regional Medical Center for treatment.
