Jamestown Family Center Receives Community Impact Award
Jamestown, CA — The Jamestown Family Resource Center will have more money to start off the New Year than expected, thanks to a grant from the Sonora Area Foundation.
Mark Dyken with the center was only expecting a $4,000 grant at the meeting earlier today, but what he got was an additional $10,000 for being chosen as the recipient of the Elaine Baker Symons Community Impact Award.
Foundation member Joan Bergsund presented the center with the grant and says Dyken does an amazing job providing services for families in need. Dyken says the money will help to offer students all of the resources they need to succeed in life.
Several Sonora Area Foundation members were at the center including Executive Director Mick Grimes, who brought members up to date on current projects.
