Truckee, CA — Despite a very dry winter so far, operators of the Boreal Ski Resort say they will go ahead with plans to open for skiing and snowboarding tomorrow.
Officials say the overnight temperatures have been dipping into the 20s, which has enabled crews to create an adequate base using snowmaking equipment.
Operators say 16 machines have been working to generate snow cover on the mountains lower trails.
Resort officials plan to open the Gunnar´s Chair lift to access one run and limited park features.
Lift tickets will be discounted to $22 for adults, $20 for seniors and $10 for kids. Boreal is the first Tahoe area resort to open this year.
The season gets started at 9:00 tomorrow morning.
