Calaveras Officials Reject Two Claims Of Wrongdoing

Sponsored by:

San Andreas, CA — The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors unanimously agree that the county did nothing wrong involving two claims that were filed against it this month.

One claim filed by former San Francisco policeman Kenneth Catamout said the sheriff discriminated against him for employment because of his sexual orientation.

In a closed session Monday the board denied that claim giving Catamout six months to file a lawsuit.

A second claim filed by Steven Snowden of Murphys alleged the county was responsible for a car accident, which claimed the life of Kenneth Darby.

Darby´s family sued Snowden for motor vehicle negligence after his truck collided with Darby´s motorcycle on French Gulch Road last June.

Snowden claims the county is responsible for the dangerous condition of French Gulch Road. With the board´s denial Monday, he now has six months to file a lawsuit.
