Calaveras Welcomes State Official

San Andreas, CA — Secretary of State Bruce McPherson made a stop in Calaveras on his tour of counties before the special statewide election.
Wednesday McPherson visited the county Elections Office meeting with Clerk Karen Varni and Supervisor Merita Callaway.
Elections Coordinator Debbie Smith said McPherson´s office called to notify her the day before the visit.
She said McPherson was touring all the counties thanking them for their work. He spent about one hour in Calaveras and walked through the Elections Office to meet all the staff.
McPherson´s office said he was in town to meet with registrar and to encourage people to vote.
