Jamestown, CA — A Modesto woman is recovering from injuries sustained in a single vehicle accident on Highway 120 last night.
CHP says 28-year-old Sharon Fletcher was driving westbound near Tulloch Road shortly after 11:30 when she apparently fell asleep at the wheel and allowed the car to drift to the right shoulder.
A report indicates that Fletcher awakened suddenly and abruptly steered back to the left and lost control of the vehicle. The car then traveled across the road and overturned on the south-side shoulder.
Fletcher was able to get out of the car and summon help from a passer-by who called police.
Fletcher was transported to Tuolumne General Hospital with lacerations on her head and ear.
Police say there was no evidence that alcohol was a factor in the accident.
