Ordway Defense Granted More Time
Vanessa Turner – MML Calaveras Bureau
San Andreas, CA — The defense lawyer for an Arnold housekeeper facing murder charges has been granted a request for more time.
Attorney Robert Forkner of Modesto had asked the court to delay the trial of his client, 43-year-old Patricia Ordway, because he needed more time to prepare for the case.
The three-month extension was granted last week in Calaveras County Superior Court. Ordway has entered a not-guilty plea to charges that she murdered her boss, 77-year-old Ray Shires of Arnold, last September.
A trial readiness conference is now scheduled for January 9th at 9:00 a.m., with the trial scheduled to begin January 26th.
Ordway remains in Calaveras County Jail on $500,000 bail.
