County Public Health Department Announces Flu Immunization Clinic Schedule
San Andreas, CA — The Calaveras County Public Health Department will offer flu vaccinations at several community locations this month and next.
An adequate supply of flu vaccine for priority populations is expected to be available this year, according to local and state health officials.
County Health Officer Dr. Dean Kelaita says they are continuing to prioritize the vaccine supply for high risk persons, health care workers and persons who can spread influenza to high risk persons.
Kelaita believes vaccinating these individuals can keep flu from spreading in the community and reduce the risk of hospitalization or death.
The next Flu Clinic is scheduled for Friday October 28th from 10am to 2pm at the Main Library in San Andreas. A fee of $0 – $6 is based on family size and income and organizers say no one is turned away due to inability to pay.
