Columbia College To Conduct Forum On Hurricane Katrina
Sonora, CA — Columbia College is inviting community members to a public forum featuring a nationally renowned meteorologist and an expert on New Orleans who will discuss Hurricane Katrina.
Donald Ahrens is the author of the most widely used textbook in today´s classrooms on meteorology. He will explain why Katrina made landfall where it did and what occurred inside the storm that made it so devastating.
Ari Kelman is a professor at U.C Davis who is slated to discuss the New Orleans area topography, its history and the poverty of its residents.
Several other speakers are scheduled to speak as well. Admission and parking will be free of charge.
The discussion gets underway at the Dogwood Forum on the Columbia College campus tomorrow at 7:30 pm.
