Ebbetts Pass Scenic Corridor Receives National Recognition

Sponsored by:

Arnold, CA — California State Route 4 between Arnold and Markleeville has been designated today as a National Scenic Byway.

Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta designated the Byway at a ceremony at Union Station in Washington D.C. The Federal Highway Administration bestows the prestigious recognition upon selected highways across the United States, which are deemed to have special and unique characteristics that set them apart.

There are only six designated National Scenic Byways in California and Ebbetts Pass was the only one nomination from California to receive the designation today. Tioga Road Highway 120 in Yosemite is among the existing designated roads in California.
