Sonora, CA — Expulsion was the common trend at the hearing for 7 boys who vandalized Summerville High School last month.
The School Board deliberated for more than 4 hours to decide the appropriate punishment for the Sonora High School students.
The Board ruled that the boys will be expelled for the 2005/2006 school year, however it suspended the expulsion for the second semester, allowing them to re-enroll January 3rd.
The parents and students spoke out hoping to lessen their punishment. District Superintendent Rob Gaskill says in the meantime, the administration will work with the students to keep them on track for graduation.
