Tuolumne County EDC To Change Location

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The Economic Development Company of Tuolumne County will be moving to a new location.

At today´s board meeting the directors agreed to accept an offer from the Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce to house the EDC staff in the Chamber offices on South Sheppard Street in Sonora.

Board President Carroll Sinclair says the move is part of a restructuring process for the Company.

Sinclair says the organization seeks to reevaluate it´s mission, goals and structure to ensure that the company is “precisely aligned with the needs of the business community.” He adds that some transition may be necessary to achieve that goal.

The board also voted to reduce the size of the board to five members to be recommended by a newly appointed transition team.

Sinclair says the Company has assets to last well into next year and grants for future funding are being pursued. At present, the company is not considering shutting down.

One task of the newly appointed board will be to determine the future course of the organization.
