CDF Deploys Incident Management Team To New Orleans

Mariposa, CA — One of ten incident management teams form the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection has been deployed to New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
Team ten consists of 13 CDF personnel who will be training the Army National Guard and the Louisiana Department of Homeland Security in incident management.
Battalion Chief Kevin Smith of Mariposa will assist in the training, which will educate guard and security personnel in the same incident management procedures used by CDF to respond to large scale disasters such as wildland fire, floods and earthquakes.
