Jury Deadlocked In Rape Trial

Sponsored by:

San Andreas, CA — The jury in the rape case against San Andreas Fire Chief Erie Donald Young has announced they are deadlocked over whether Young raped a 17-year-old girl in 1988.

On Wednesday the eight woman four man jury told the Judge it was deadlocked 7-5 on the child rape charge and split 6-6 on an oral copulation charge.

Deputy District Attorney Dan McConnell says he is not sure if he will prosecute the case again. Young consistently maintains his innocence, while serving as chief of the San Andreas Fire district.
