CDF Investigates Highway 108 Grass Fire
Sonora, CA — CDF is investigating a grass fire on Highway 108 and Lime Kiln Road near the Old Wards Ferry overpass in Sonora yesterday.
Crews responded shortly after 3:00 with seven engines, three water tenders and a bulldozer, plus a CDF air attack, one helicopter and two air tankers.
Two crews from Baseline Conservation Camp also responded. The blaze was held to under five acres and no injuries were reported.
Meanwhile crews in Calaveras County responded to a structure fire in La Contenta just before noon yesterday.
CDF says an electrical fire did about $5,000 in damage to a home on Robin Road. Damage to the contents of the home is estimated at about $10,000.
Fire fighters responded with four engines and one CDF air attack. The structure was occupied at the time, however no injuries were reported.
