Federal Officials Impose Campfire Restrictions
Sponsored by:
Folsom, CA — The Bureau of Land Management has banned all campfires outside of developed campgrounds on federal lands in Calaveras County and in the Sierra Nevadas.
Officials say camp stoves, lanterns and other devices that burn pressurized fuels are still allowed by permit.
The Bureau says the restrictions are in effect until further notice because of escalating fire danger.
Burn permits can be picked up at the nearest Bureau office.
